"I do very custom, one-of-a-kind work," says Bill Hergenroeder, a custom woodworker who owns Springwood Construction Inc. in Cockeysville.
He built Foreman's personal cellar, has done work in several of his restaurants and counts other area dining establishments as clients. "Nothing is prefab."

Hergenroeder says home offices are also popular commissions in his market. His clients like painted finishes, as well as cherry and mahogany. “I have talked with other woodworkers who only work in walnut, but it has been 10 years since I worked with walnut,” he says.

Furniture Artist Profile
Making "art furniture."
I am William Hergenroeder. I make unique marquetry, inlayed wood furniture.
My work has been significantly influenced by classes with USA makers Marc Adams, Paul Schurch, Frank Pollaro.
The inspiration for my furniture comes from books, nature, historical, and my ingenuity.
Every piece of my furniture is one-of-a-kind.
I play with shapes, geometry, curves, ellipses, circles and highly figured veneers. I often slice the veneer from boards / tree branches.
My 30 year history in woodworking evolved from handyman to carpenter to cabinet maker to original surface decorated / marquetry / inlayed furniture.
